That’s the wild ride that was Damien Chazelle’s Babylon just a few months back during the holiday season. The details are infinite - Margot Robbie's dress may well be distracting but her Harley Quinn-dishevelled hair (no less endearing) is finely wild and keenly observed. In fact the entire cast is good, and I must give special mention to Toby Mc Guire as a gambling/mob boss. This Blu-ray release of Babylon contains all of its extras on a second Blu-ray disc; the feature film disc contains only the film.

Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. narrative is coherently linear, the larger purpose beyond painting a vivid picture of lust-for-life extremes seems scattered.subwoofer balance and altogether these elements make the sequence hard to beat for distinction and definition. undergone a massive restoration because Dennis Bovell's soundtrack comes off the speakers with plenty of clarity and depth. The film seems to be a bit of a marmite job so obviously I've no idea which side of the fence I'll be on but the AV credentials sound first class so it's a no-brainer for me. However, there are countless derivative and blatant references or parallels to Singing in the Rain which stand out like a sore thumb.

Written and directed by two white men -- Franco Rosso and Martin Stellman -- Babylon also featured an explosive soundtrack which helped tremendously its promotional campaign. And whilst it's crafted with all the style and panache of a veritable Hollywood love letter, the bitter taste it leaves means it reads more like vicious hate mail in hindsight. Low Frequency Extension: There’s a great boombastic nature to the drums, strings and horns in this score that really hit nice and lift off on the subwoofer. It’s my favourite performance and story of the whole three hours as his first and only love is his music. Unfortunately getting lumped in and overlooked amidst a sea of somewhat self-servingly indulgent "ode to cinema" productions, this Olivia Colman-led psychological drama is charming, bittersweet and melancholy in its study of a troubled mind during a troubled time.As someone who wants to get into the film industry, I’m glad a film like this exists, and Chazelle was able to do it his way.

You actually feel for his character, unlike some others, despite being in the centre of the debauchery, somehow riding the wave without - for the most part - getting his own fingers dirty, other than perhaps in a succession of failed marriages. If you put aside some of the more prominent works by Mike Leigh and Ken Loach that have been successful at important film festivals around Europe and Asia, there are probably only about a dozen or so independent British films that you would be able to track down on DVD. By day, they make movies and attempt to transition from the silent, gray era to one of loud sound and vibrant colors.

This smooth and glossy SteelBook will show handling fingerprints in its darker areas, which make up most of the exterior. For the week of March 20th, Paramount Home Media Distribution will release Babylon (2022), Dragonslayer (1981) and Red Eye (2005) on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Chazelle's ostensible love letter to Hollywood, beyond its sizeable Box Office losses, hardly lit up the Oscars, proving a marmite entry for audiences and critics alike.
