Refurbishment procedures follow the same basic technical guidelines as Apple's Finished Goods testing procedures. We didn’t test that claim during our review – partly because we don’t want to randomly see if we can smash an expensive phone just to see what happens – but Apple is also claiming the iPhone 12 range is scratch resistant, thanks to a ‘dual ion exchange’ process.
