The first multiple they all share is 12, so this is the least common multiple. To complete an addition (or subtraction) problem, multiply the numerators and denominators of each fraction in the problem by whatever value will make the denominators 12, then add the numerators. EX: Swift Optics used to be more popular than Sears on the European market and the Aubudon No. 804 8.5×44. remains its most recognizable product; still that company wasn't idle when it comes to the 7×35 class either, with several other well-put-together, interesting models in their line-up.

rdmadison - Since I have cleaned, aligned, disassembled, etc. a number of Zephrys over the years, my comments are from experience. The American B&L binoculars have always rivaled Zeiss in terms of quality of materials and workmanship. Coatings on the Zephyrs appeared during the WWII era, or shortly thereafter. B&L coatings are relatively soft and easily rubbed or marred. But that has little effect on opitcal image. Japanese coatings are very hard when compared to the B & L on the other hand. It stands to reason that clearer the image would be with better lighting. You need your binoculars to gather a certain amount of light as we mentioned above due to the unpredictable light situation. The Field of View Proper fraction button and Improper fraction button work as pair. When you choose the one the other is switched off.

Long Multiplication Example: Multiply 234 by 56

Multiply as above, but this time write your answers in a new row, shifted one digit place to the left. Converting from decimals to fractions is straightforward. It does, however, require the understanding that each decimal place to the right of the decimal point represents a power of 10; the first decimal place being 10 1, the second 10 2, the third 10 3, and so on. Simply determine what power of 10 the decimal extends to, use that power of 10 as the denominator, enter each number to the right of the decimal point as the numerator, and simplify. For example, looking at the number 0.1234, the number 4 is in the fourth decimal place, which constitutes 10 4, or 10,000. This would make the fraction 1234 I doubt that more than a handful of people who post to the binocular section of birdforum have ever looked through the Zephyr, and of course one reason is that relatively few were sold in the UK and Europe. I only discovered it recently myself, and I am amazed by its sharpness, contrast, and brightness. It does have its downside (field of view, close focus, amber cast), but there is a reason it was one of the most popular postwar birding binoculars in the USA for at least twenty years. And other binoculars from the 1950s and 1960s go unnoticed. For example the Bushnell Custom 7x35 is very fine, with a wider field of view than the Zephyr. Even the early FPO-made Custom, which dates between about 1959 and 1965, has remarkable color fidelity, which I did not think was possible in a binocular at that time. We can start with the Swift Holiday Mark II 7×35 BWCF no. 766 that I had managed to buy in mint condition. The binoculars didn't stay long in my hands as I passed it on, giving it to a charity auction. Still it was a really decent piece of equipment with a field of view of 11 degrees, excellent build quality, and premium accessories. When offered on an auction, it can fetch as much as 100-200 dollars.

But they aren't and can be carefully moved apart for cleaning. Often the minute galling leaves tell tale marks lengthwise on the tubes. The traditional method, or Standard Algorithm, involves multiplying numbers and lining up results according to place value. These are the steps to do long multiplication by hand: A user’s eye relief can be defined as how far their eye is from the eye piece. The objective lens is the point where you see the binoculars. In general, people measure their eye relief range as 15mm. As a consequence, you may need a larger eye relief if you wear spectacles since there is a greater distance between the eyes, the spectacles, and the binoculars. Because of this, you need extended eye relief. People who wear spectacles need an eye relief of at least 16mm. Types of Design Long multiplication with decimals using the standard algorithm has a few simple additional rules to follow. In most cases, it is not the most important consideration when choosing a pair of binoculars. The magnification and lens diameter should be more important. Eye Relief
