Intellectually, you believe that (at least in general terms) that miracles and healings still happen today. The main limitation of this part of the book is that Keener focuses mainly on miracles witnessed by Christians.

A substantial part of this work is also given over to show how the 'miracles don't happen' line of argument used by modern atheists is based upon nothing more than whim. The Disappearance of the Universe, published in 2003 by Fearless Books, was republished by Hay House in 2004. We often hold a narrow view of him that underestimates his role in sustaining every moment of our being. The course has been viewed as a way which "integrates a psychological world view with a universal spiritual perspective" and linked to transpersonal psychology. The original document features illustrations of famous biblical stories - like Noah's Ark and Moses parting the Red Sea - plus numerous historical 'happenings' that were simply beyond the comprehension of Renaissance Europe such as comets and eclipses, floods and storms, earthquakes, malformed animals, plagues, and monsters.

With gentle humour, and surprising twists and turns, this is just the book we need in these difficult times. The result is a book that is important not only for the historical study of Jesus and the New Testament but also for our understanding of our contemporary world beyond the boundaries of our social location and its worldview. Keener deals comprehensively with the kind of philosophical constructs which tell us (in the West) that 'miracles can't happen', and shows why they are based on flawed presuppositions. The reason for this is that their "sins" are merely projections of our ego, reflecting our perceived state of separation from other people–those feared "competitors" who wish us harm. In particular, a supernaturalist believes that the natural world was created or derived from a supernatural entity. I truly believe these words come from our Guardian and have way more guidance in these words than anything! But whenever you come across a claim of miraculous healing with an actual name, an actual time and place, attached to it, you immediately (although you might not openly admit it) become just a bit skeptical.
