mW sensitivity is rather good, there were no problems with volume on all my devices, including portable players. Contrary to popular belief these are quite fun with the desired details, however, I do believe when run on tubes the 9khz can be subdued and opens up the soundstage more.

Over all an incredibly balanced and airy sound, filled with many details and excellent 2D and 3D sound stage. Mids- … Vocals are great, Matisyahu has a nice warmth to his voice, that paired over top the attack of the guitar make for a great mid presentation. The HD25's have good detail, a nice soundstage but being closed backs, i think the 3D imaging is less well done than with the Beyerdynamics. They sound great over almost the full frequency range and with almost all music genres imo, just the very low frequencies are a bit lacking imo, and unfortunately EQ'ing doesn't help much here (it seems they are simply not capable to output em properly, perhaps because of the open design, closed ones do usually better in the low-lows). size=medium] If you want to be able to run the DT880 from a portable player then it would make sense to opt for the 32ohm version.

DT 880's: Open, more treble, wide, less bass (but still enough for my taste),balanced and realistic.size=medium] I was surprised that even some portable devices get away with adequately driving the 600ohm DT880s. The DT 880 manages to retrieve great detail in the treble without being harsh or distracting, even with imperfect sources. The adjustable headband, like most Beyerdynamics from this range, is not the most elegant mechanism but once you have it where you want it there is not much to find fault with. The premiums also have a relaxed and comfortable clamp and headband angle, where as pro’s are quite tight and might cause discomfort when they are new.

They have fairly similar sound profiles, although the AKG adds a bit of extra emphasis to the clarity and detail of vocals and instruments, while the Beyerdynamic emphasize more of the sibilance range. That mantle usually brings with it a lack of bass presence that can disappoint some people in the musicality department. Incubus: " A Certain Shade of Green" - I don't think I noticed just how complex Incubus music was until I heard it through these headphones and that's especially true of this track. The Sennheiser have an open-back design, a more neutral default sound profile, and a better passive soundstage performance. My preferred genre is classical, and any phone that can please me on classical has to be worth its salt. Also, their semi-open design doesn't block ambient noise, leaks a lot and isn't really intended for any other use case except critical listening in an isolated environment.

So, for everything besides very bass-heavy music (and here we have enough alternatives) this headphones are great. The DT 880 are rugged and well-built headphones that won't break if they accidentally fall off your desk. I guess being semi-open doesn't give you the best of both worlds as the HD600/650 and K701 have much better soundstages. It looks identical but the 880's are more "plush" to the touch, even more so than the more expensive HD 600.That being said, Beyerdynamic has made a few compromises in pro version when compared to DT880 premium versions. If you like something because of its value, design or feature set, try it out yourself before forming an opinion on how it sounds. None of the others have this much bass extension and impact, detailed highs that sparkle (a little bit sibilant though), and an overall neutral sound signature. nosto_anwendung:Relaxed music listening, sound enjoyment in the foreground At Home, Made in Germany 14 4. So this headphone is 250 ohms, which means that these cans cannot be driven by a regular mp3 device.
