Since its inception, the Pavilion has become an established home for Serpentine’s Live Programmes. This year the Pavilion will also host a specially commissioned sound programme Listening to the City that features work by artists including Ain Bailey and Jay Bernard, connecting visitors to the stories and sounds of selected London neighbourhoods. The design process has also extended into thinking through more equitable, sustainable and imaginative institutional structures by creating Support Structures for Support Structures, a grant and fellowship programme that supports artists who work in, support and hold communities in London through their work. Thompson first wrote Western stories for pulp magazines in 1940 after stints as a sailor, a nightclub entertainer, a secretary and a furniture salesman. He later published hundreds of articles in national general-interest magazines and wrote 25 Western novels, including “Range Drifter,” “Shadow of the Butte” and “Bitter Water.” (latimes.com) There is a sentence, near the end of the book: "The trial had long since become mired in tedium, a play with no end, its performers trapped." I found it ironic. The Serpentine Lido is open from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (last entry 5:30pm) every day in June, July and August.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. 2 adults to every 1 under 16 if customers are using the lake. Thompson seems to be Charles Shobhraj's shadow during this entire episode of Charles' life. At times it seems he is deep within Charles to see his weaknesses, that seems to elude almost everyone, except Charles and Thompson. Pollinator Pathmaker is a living sculpture made of plants, designed to prioritise the needs of endangered pollinating insects, rather than to please humans. One thing that neither the book or the mini-series can capture is all that has happened after 1977 when Sobhraj and lover, Marie-Andrée Leclerc, are finally captured and jailed. Once Interpol took the case things began to pop. They were wanted in various cities in at least six countries simultaneously. Descriptions and pictures, witnesses began to appear. In this looping film work, artist and poet Rena Anakwe responds to ideas of weather, energy and interconnection within Tomás Saraceno’s exhibition, Web(s) of Life.Several times while reading “Serpentine”, my jaw hit the floor. Other times, I had to put the book down in disgust. But still, I soldiered on because I was reading a brilliantly written account of one of the most sociopathic, self-serving and evil conmen and murderer that’s ever walked this earth. According to Thompson's 1982 obit: "The lanky writer had been in a coma for several days and died at 3 a.m. in St. Vincent's Hospital, a hospital official said. At his bedside were Robert Lantz, his agent of 15 years, and his two college-age sons, Kirk and Scott. For artist James Barnor, family and community were a constant source of inspiration in his photography. Family FOTO is an international family album inspired by Barnor’s Serpentine ex...

Opening is weather dependant and will predominantly be Wednesday – Sunday, although this is subject to change based on the weather. Pricing One of the most venerable places to have an outdoor splash about in London – the Serpentine Lido in Hyde Park – has finally reopened to swimmers for the summer this week.He was born in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in 1955. He then worked as a reporter and editor at the Houston Press. My practice, and this Pavilion, is centred around amplifying and collaborating with multiple and diverse voices from many different histories; with an interest in themes of identity, community, belonging and gathering. The past year has drawn these themes sharply into focus and has allowed me the space to reflect on the incredible generosity of the communities that have been integral to this Pavilion. This has given rise to several initiatives that extend the duration, scale and reach of the Pavilion beyond its physical lifespan. In a time of isolation, these initiatives have deepened the Pavilion’s intents toward sustained collaboration, and I am excited to continue this engagement with the Serpentine’s civic and education teams and our partners over the summer and beyond.” The 20 th Serpentine Pavilion is designed by Johannesburg-based practice Counterspace, directed by Sumayya Vally. A TIME100 Next List honouree, Vally is the youngest architect to be commissioned for this internationally renowned architecture programme.
