Potter, John Deane (1967), The Monsters Of The Moors: The full account of the Brady-Hindley case, Ballantine Books

The investigating officers suspected Brady and Hindley of murdering other missing children and teenagers who had disappeared from areas in and around Manchester over the previous few years, and the search for more bodies continued for a while after the discovery of John Kilbride's body, but with winter setting in it was called off in November. Various newspapers were also keen to name possible further victims of the "Moors Murders", with Pauline Reade and Keith Bennett being two of them. [101]

Making Murderers: Myra Hindley And Ian Brady Before The Moors Murders

Lewis, James (9 December 1987), "Ian Brady resumes search for boy's grave", The Guardian, p.3 , retrieved 1 September 2019 This book has undoubtedly been meticulously researched by Chris Cook and Chris has gathered together so much detailed information. The book details the collapse of the Ian Brady and Myra Hindley relationship and how they began to turn on each other. Carmichael, Kay (2003), Sin and Forgiveness: New Responses in a Changing World, Ashgate Publishing, ISBN 978-0-7546-3406-5

Moors Murderer Ian Brady died of natural causes, coroner confirms", Glasgow Evening Times, 21 September 2017 , retrieved 23 September 2017This book and the previous one by Chris Cook are the DEFINITIVE books on the Moor Murderers. Full of interesting details and facts not divulged in any other books I have read on the murders. Fascinating and must reads for true crime fans. Highly recommended. NetGalley, Suzi Jeevaratnam

I am always interested to read true crime books, so I was really pleased when my request was granted! This book tells the story of the trial and conviction of the Moors Murderers, including parts related to their time in prison and how they were with other inmates. An interesting read for any true crime fans. NetGalley, Toni Wade I went through so many stages of thought process, the brother in law was involved, no he wasn’t, Myra was an abused unwilling participant, no she wasn’t, Myra was genuinely sorry, no she wasn’t, Brady wasn’t the only highly manipulative person, there has to be more victims, no there isn’t. Harrison, Fred (1986), Brady and Hindley: The Genesis of the Moors Murders, Grafton, ISBN 978-0-906798-70-6 In 1964, Hindley, her grandmother, and Brady were rehoused as part of the post-war slum clearances in Manchester, to 16Wardle Brook Avenue in the new overspill estate of Hattersley, near the Cheshire town of Hyde. Brady and Hindley became friendly with Patricia Hodges, an 11-year-old girl who lived at 12Wardle Brook Avenue. Hodges accompanied the two on their trips to Saddleworth Moor to collect peat, something that many householders on the new estate did to improve the soil in their gardens, which were full of clay and builder's rubble. [53] The couple never harmed Hodges, since she lived only a few doors away, which would have made it easier for police to solve any disappearance. [54] Hearing Of Moors Murder Case In Camera", The Times, no.56498, Times Digital Archive, 7 December 1965, p.6 , retrieved 25 September 2009Police also found photos of the couple on Saddleworth Moor, which led to a search of the area. Police discovered both Downey and Kilbride’s bodies, and subsequently charged Myra Hindley and Ian Brady with three counts of murder. Smith, David; Lee, Carol Anne (2011), Witness: The Story of David Smith, Chief Prosecution Witness in the Moors Murders Case, Mainstream Publishing, ISBN 978-1-84596-739-0 Soon after his first visit to the moor, Brady wrote a letter to a BBC reporter, giving some sketchy details of five additional deaths that he claimed to have been involved in: a man in the Piccadilly area of Manchester, another victim on Saddleworth Moor, two more in Scotland, and a woman whose body was allegedly dumped in a canal. [158] Police, failing to discover any unsolved crimes matching the details that he supplied, decided that there was insufficient evidence to launch an official investigation. [159] [160] Hindley told Topping that she knew nothing of these killings. [151] A sequel to the Moors Murders. If you find real crime an interesting topic then this is for you. I found sections of this book interesting. It is horrific what they did to those poor children and it still baffles me that poor Keith has never been found . NetGalley, Cennin Thomas

The woman seemed no different to others I’d met while out begging with my brothers and sisters,” recalls Tommy, now 61. Some felt so sorry for us they took us into their homes and fed us before sending us on our way with the odd copper or two. So I set off with this kind lady, drooling at the thought of some bread and jam. Tommy said: “The next time I saw those faces was on the TV news when their chilling acts had been uncovered. I was living in a children’s home then and told a staff member ‘She took me to her house for bread and jam!’ They just laughed. left to right) John Kilbride, Lesley Ann Downey, Edward Evans, Pauline Reade and Keith Bennett (Image: PA) UK's longest-serving prisoner, Straffen, dies", The Daily Telegraph, 20 November 2007, archived from the original on 23 May 2008 , retrieved 22 September 2009

Myra Hindley Speaks Out

The body of a fourth victim, Keith Bennett, is probably buried there as well, but despite repeated searches it hasn't been found.
