The film is blatantly provocative and, for the most part, plain unwatchable, but you just fail to take your eyes off of an explosive Isabelle Huppert, who is in top form here. The spirit you and your children have seen is not a demon or a deceased murderer. His name looks to me like it might be "Rodney" or "Rod", possibly his middle name is "Paul", though I am unclear about that part.
