Prescription: I can’t seem to recommend this for anyone in the time being. If you want a better story about 5 brothers which is more relatable and has great writing then I recommend Watching Glass Shatter by James Cudney! Zusak is a writer of extraordinary empathy and he excels in his understanding of adolescent boys...in his portrayal of the gently traumatised Clay he has created a memorable character to savour... in The Book Thief 10 Years Later: Markus Zusak Reflects on His Iconic Novel 14 March 2016". Paste Magazine . Retrieved 28 March 2017.

In a complex narrative that leaps through time and place and across oceans, Zusak paints a vivid portrait of the brothers trying to regain their balance by keeping their family’s story alive.”— Time

Na forma, Zusak tem uma escrita peculiar e muito sua, que nem sempre agrada a todos! No conteúdo, as histórias que nos conta, extravasam sentimento, e, essas sim, tocam-nos a quase... quase... todos 😍 Markus Zusak is my all time favourite author and with Bridge of Clay he has just solidified that position further. I fell in love with his writing in The Book Thief and then The Messenger and now with Bridge of Clay. I always tell people that going into his book, don't expect them to be anything alike (except for extraordinary writing) because they are all so individual and different from each other, it's actually kind of amazing.

If The Book Thief was a novel that allowed Death to steal the show, its slightly chaotic, overlong, though brilliantly illuminated follow-up is affirmatively full of life.” — TheGuardian Bridge of Clay is a 2018 novel by Australian author Markus Zusak. It revolves around five brothers coming to terms with the disappearance of their father. Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak was ten years in the making so I was expecting big things from this story and I wasn’t disappointed. Michael Dunbar – father of the Dunbar boys, often referred to as 'the murderer', his story is one of the main plot lines throughout the work. Bridge of Clay, as earlier in The Book Thief, Zusak has succeeded in creating a story so vibrant and so real that the reader feels enveloped by it. Zusak's empathy and love for this flawed world permeate his writing and make this new book shine.' The Australian

Markus Zusak pitches the reader into a ‘terrifically teenaged world’. Photograph: Brendon Thorne/Getty ImagesYou’re welcome! Let me know what you think of The Book Thief, once you’ve had a chance to read it! Zusak is amazing! Summary: This is a Hit or miss kind of books (Apparently a miss for me) which had a bad combination of characters, writing and plot. If you start this and feel that you ned to DNF it then I encourage doing so because it is not for everyone and if you enjoy it then good for you :D. A murderer should probably do many things, but he should never, under any circumstances, come home.” I was really confused in this book, more so in the beginning until I got used to how this was being written. The Bridge Of Clay is a book I will have to revisit time and again to get all of the tidbits that we miss at times. Especially in a book like this; family, sorrow, hope, change, love, death. It's life. It's death. It's a family both past and present. It's something I can't put into words, I just feel it. Did you know you can flag iffy content?
