On a list of anticipated releases, Lucy Score is always high on the list, and in 2023, I’m sure all of us have been waiting for Things We Hide From The Light. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait much longer for the release as it’s finally release day. Police Chief Nash Morgan is known for two things: being a good guy and the way his uniform accentuates his rear end . . .

you run, I catch 😈. Gahhhh! I looove this in books (and movies too). Lina can try running from Nash, but he’s gonna go after her. Two of the most pivotal moments in the book had Nash chasing Lina, and she could only submit 🤷🏻‍♀️. I mean. Nash is VERY convincing 💁🏻‍♀️. He can convince me any time 😉🔥👀 the moments of levity. If I’m ever kidnapped, I hope to react the way Lina did 😅 I definitely giggled when I know I shouldn’t 🤣 It was a feeling. Some kind of magic. A rightness, I guess. It definitely didn’t make any logical sense. On paper we couldn’t be more ill-suited to each other. But there was something so right about how it felt to be with him.” You make me feel things. And after going long enough without feeling anything, feeling something – even if it’s anger or adrenaline – is better than the nothing.” The s3x wasn't overly anything - but one thing that did catch me off guard was reading a sexual 'encounter' from the man's POV.. I didn't like that. I like s3x scenes from the third person or the women's POV. Just a preference thing, really, but I'm curious if anyone else noticed it?Friends make friends better. We accept the bad parts, celebrate the good parts, and we don't torture you for your mistakes” lina and nash are decent characters and i liked them enough, but i couldnt help but feel like they are better suited to the roles of side characters rather than main ones. Whenever you’re close, everything is better. The closer you are, the easier I breathe, the less I feel like life is just a never-ending pour of lemon juice into an open wound that won’t heal. You take away the dark, the cold. And you remind me what it’s like to want to be here.” This book is a big one but I honestly never wanted it to end. It keeps you on the edge of your seat not only with the mystery behind Nash’s memory loss but with the development of Nash and Lina’s feelings toward one another. lina is such a badass. sometimes i get bored with very commitment-phobic heroines because no matter what the hero does, they don't give an inch but lina was a perfect balance of hard and soft and the banter between these two was so good.

Nash is, at heart, just an absolute sweetheart who's going through a tough time. I loved how he fell first and just went head over heels when it came to Lina. We do get a ton of all the side characters, which made me so happy because we get alllll setup for Lucian and Sloane's romance, which is coming next. I CANNOT WAIT! I know I'm going to be so sad when it's here and I'll have to let go of these town and characters. But two bullets put a dent in his Southern charm and now he’s facing a criminal still on the loose and a town full of citizens that consider the law more of a ‘guideline’. The last thing he needs is the leggy, smart-mouthed Lina Solavita moving in next door, making him feel things he doesn’t have the energy to feel.

Knockemout Series by Lucy Score - Goodreads

such a cute small town romance! This is my third Lucy Score book and I loveeee her writing style! She writes such great/fun/quirky side characters, always has great side plots outside the romance, and actually makes me laugh at moments throughout the book. Lucy Score never does me wrong! A beautiful and emotional small-town romance that everyone should read. This is one of my most anticipated reads of this year, I loved the first book soooo much and I couldn't wait to get to Nash and Lina's story. It did not disappoint and if I am being totally honest, I loved it even more then the first book! This book is nonstop entertainment. I was either swooning, laughing, or fanning my face the entire book.! I've been anticipating Things We Hide from the Light for so long. I was a little bit nervous about going in, because sometimes the second book is not as good as the first book (*points at my review of Queen of Myth and Monster*). But oh my god I should have never doubted Lucy Score! This book was pure joy and enjoyment. I couldn't stop reading. I swear every time I wanted to stop to go to sleep or go do something else, the chapter ended in a way that it was impossible for me to put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen next! This book is addictive af.Sometimes you don’t have to weigh every single pro and con. Sometimes the answer is the one that just feels right.” i have a very strong instinct when it comes to certain characters and books in a series and how i feel about them. from the first interaction between Lucian and Sloane in Things We Never Got Over i knew they would be the couple for me in this series. so when Lucy announced that Things We Hide From the Light is actually about Nash (H) and Angelina (h), my excitement for them was lukewarm and that’s exactly how this book turned out to be. nash morgan was the town's 'do good' police chief/golden boy who dreamed of getting married and having kids one day. but after the events in twngo, he's a shell of his former self. he doesn't feel much of anything until he sees that his new neighbor is his brother's mysterious ex, lina. lina runs from commitment at all costs but even she can't deny her attraction to nash no matter how wrong for each other they are. but, they might not even get their chance to make bad choices when loose ends from the past start haunting them again. i came here for the luciansloane crumbs and i was not disappointed at all, especially after that bonus epilogue!!! Let’s just be honest before I get into the review. If you haven’t read Things We Never Got Over, then you need to read it before you read this one. There are a few loose ends in terms of plotlines you won’t understand unless you read the first book. Aside from that, you’re good to start this one upon finishing it.
