Description

Aslin finds herself in enemy hands at the tail end of a war between her country and that of Ero, the enigmatic captain who has kept her prisoner for weeks. When a peace treaty nears, Ero decides he’s not ready to let her go. Suddenly Aslin is faced with a sea voyage into the unknown, destined for a mysterious island where she knows no one. No one, that is, except for the dark and possessive man who has claimed her body and is perilously close to claiming her heart. NEW RELEASE* from Lucy Felthouse – Curve Appeal, a standalone contemporary reverse harem/why choose romance! (@cw1985) Includes*REVIEW* June 26, 2023 It was a fast read. I'd say maybe a B level book. I could tell the Author wanted to maybe write a book off the doctor or the princess. I hope the author doesn't. There wasn't enough connection or interest. This book should just be as it is. Move on to different characters and a different story and write a non related book. Even though this is labeled a dark fantasy romance, I don’t find it dark at all. While it did begin with the heroine captured, the hero was never anything but protective and considerate once things were revealed.

RELEASE BLITZ – Rogue Angel (Sinners and Saints #2), by Lana Sky (incudes review and excerpt)💀 January 11, 2023What a great find this book was! This dark fantasy romance is a fabulous read and contains one of my favourite tropes, enemies to lovers. It’s also got plenty of steam, forced proximity, a strong and determined heroine and an alpha to to die for. It manages to be both sweet and sizzling at the same time. If you like enemies to lovers romances within the fantasy genre this steamy read is one I recommend. Ero isn’t massively better. His only personality trait is lusting after Aslin, to the point where it was actually laughable. How are you commanding armies from her bedroom? And what the hell have you fallen in love with, considering she barely does or says anything? He essentially turned into a massive simp, and it was kind of unappealing. I’m pretty sure the word ‘abasement’ was actually used at one point. It read as a fairy tale of sorts, very geared towards erotic romance and with quite solid world building and a nice plot to boot. This book confirms that I really like sweet fantasy/barbarian style romances with a healthy dose of spice and epic-feel. The H, Ero, was such a perfect male, all considerate and princely and yet visceral in his feelings as well. The h, Aislin was a little more opaque in personality, but she was very brave and loved with all her heart. The tender angst between them was simply but effectively done, appealing to the heartstrings gently. If you are looking for a sweet fantasy romance with light, but tenderaching angst and steamy moments, this book is a must read. Ruby Rodrigo is also a new author worth discovering and supporting. I foresee a bright future for her ❤.

I just binged this entire story. Last time I did that was with A Court of Thorns and Roses . This was absolutely amazing. The Archer is a dark fantasy romance with explicit sexual scenes. It is for mature readers only. There are scenes of rough sex, reluctance, and violent combat. This is a standalone work with a happy ending. Though it's difficult to see why, since Aslin has the personality of a wet tissue. I'm meant to believe this girl impulsively ran away from home, lived as a rough-and-ready soldier for four months, and carried out dangerous missions? She evinces no patriotism and, for the most part, barely any feelings. The plot is simple, but she weaves magic with her words. Her descriptions and prose so subtle but captivating, keeping you entranced as the reader. I enjoyed how they are immediately drawn to one another and how their attraction swiftly grows and develops over the course of the narrative. There are some steamy and explicit scenes and these are beautifully written, as is the rest of the book. The plot contains plenty of passion and adventure for both hero and heroine as they navigate their relationship and unfolding events. They discover much about each other, including a number of secrets and unexpected revelations before their HEA is achieved. The worldbuilding held my interest without overpowering the central romance and thrust of the narrative. My interest was also piqued by a number of side characters whom I hope to see in any future books the author decides to release.Their connection is good, the way it's written. The feeling of loss. I felt that when I was reading. I liked the plot twist. That was good. I only wished there had been a great epilogue at the end. But I am happy from the author's note that there are other stories planned to be set in the same world. I can't wait 🥰. I'm always up for reading a new fantasy romance featuring 'rough sex, reluctance, and violent combat'. Unfortunately, this book doesn't really deliver on any of those things.
