Description

The Moon Ball cannot be used in situations in which Poké Balls cannot be used, such as in wild battles with two or more opponents currently present or against a trial Pokémon. If used in a Trainer battle, the opposing Trainer will bat the ball away, wasting the turn (as well as the ball prior to Generation IV). Make him hit a lot of balls. Keep running his shots down, because a hard hitter doesn't have much margin for error, and he'll eventually miss one. Emmerich - who you gonna hire when it comes to a movie of this kind and calibre? I mean one is almost tempted to say that he is doing one thing in different forms/movies. There are elements from so many other movies here. Be it in the characters or the themes of the movie. The important question though is: can you suspend your disbelief? And I don't mean just a little! I am talking about all the way here. Keep your shots deep. If you give a power hitter a short ball, you'll have less time to react to his shot, and he'll be able to create sharper angles. In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, while it is intended to be more effective against Pokémon that evolve by using Moon Stone and their evolutionary relatives, due to a glitch, it always has a 1× catch rate. (Instead, the Moon Ball is more effective against Pokémon that evolve by using a Burn Heal, but there are no such Pokémon.)

Pull him up to net with good drop shots or low, skidding slices. This is a risky play, because if your short ball sits up at all, he'll put it away. If you hit a good short ball though, you'll force him to try to play the net, and a lot of power baseliners don't volley well. UNDERRATED TRAITS OF THE GREATS: Roger Federer—Winning ugly | Simona Halep—Boldness | Rafael Nadal—When to come to net | Sofia Kenin—Variety | Pete Sampras—Movement | Serena Williams—Plan B | Novak Djokovic—Forehand versatility | Chris Evert—Athleticism | Daniil Medvedev—Reading the room | Naomi Osaka—Return of serve While not as flashy or gratifying, the body serve is an undervalued tactic when serving in key moments. For one, it provides players a bigger target to aim for. It also sends a clear message to the other side: do not let your feet get too comfortable. Serving out wide is a popular play, but in some instances, it gives the right returner the angle he or she is looking for—Novak Djokovic, anyone? By serving to the body, especially at the rec level, your opponent’s wherewithal to remain balanced under pressure will be tested. And though you may not earn as many points off of unreturned serves, this approach will often lead to an ineffective reply, putting you in control to dictate. —Matt Fitzgerald, TENNIS.com and Tennis Magazine In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver only, Moon Balls cannot be held. This is to prevent them being held by a Pokémon traded to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, where the item does not exist. But the changeover can be a double-edged sword. If clouded with negative thoughts, the time can eat up an opportunity to find clarity in what may seem like chaos. Once the umpire calls “time,” a player’s mental work during the changeover unfolds. —Jordaan Sanford, former player at the University of Maryland and Baylor University If the wild Pokémon is of a species that evolves by using a Moon Stone (no longer including the rest of their evolutionary family), it has a 4× catch rate modifier; otherwise, it has a 1× modifier. If used on an Ultra Beast, the catch rate modifier is instead always set to 410/4096× (~0.1×). In Generation II, the Moon Ball's catch rate is mistakenly boosted when used on Pokémon that evolve using a Burn Heal rather than a Moon Stone, so in practice the rate is never boosted. In Generation I, the Moon Stone's index number was 0x0A, but in Generation II, this index corresponds to the Burn Heal (the Moon Stone instead having the index number 0x08)—the Moon Ball's code mistakenly references the Moon Stone's original index number, preventing the Moon Ball's boost from ever applying. From an outside perspective, the changeover is simply a break in the action, but it carries much more significance between the lines. When a player sits down, the break is a chance to recover, reflect and collect their thoughts by focusing solely on the task at hand, whether that be closing out a match or fighting to remain alive.

This underrated shot is best used sporadically, as regular use will take away from your more powerful, topspin forehand weapon. But this slice is a weapon all its own. —Nina Pantic, former player at UCLA and the University of Missouri The Moon Ball is a PokéBall obtained from Kurt. This ball has an increased capture rate for Pokémon that evolve with the MoonStone. If the target Pokémon is Nidorina, Nidorino, Clefairy, Jigglypuff or Skitty, then the capture rate is 4. For every other Pokémon, the capture rate is 1.It may be one of the ugliest shots in the sport, and one of the most rarely seen in the pros. But it was used to great effect by Agnieszka Radwanska, who climbed all the way to No. 2 in the world, and Monica Niculescu sliced the likes of Maria Sharapova off the court with it. A somewhat different Poké Ball that is more effective when catching Pokémon that can be evolved using a Moon Stone.

Prior to Pokémon Sword and Shield, it was impossible to legitimately observe the Moon Ball's bonus on Munna, as it could not be encountered in the wild in any of the games where Moon Balls could be obtained.Since I live in upstate New York, I have a 3-hour train ride to the city from Saratoga. I try and make it to New York City 4 times a year to visit friends, catch a game, and have a change of scenery. This item cannot be given to Pokémon to hold in HeartGold & SoulSilver. If a Pokémon is captured in this PokéBall and traded to Diamond, Pearl or Platinum, it will revert in those games to an ordinary PokéBall. This shot—with an emphasis on depth—is one of the most underrated and underutilized shots in tennis. Denis Kudla said this about Rafael Nadal, “most players can pass you either cross court or down the line, but Rafa can literally hit the ball around you with his forehand.”
