Description

In most cases, you would buy a robotic lawn mower to maintain a lawn that has already recently been cut. However, my rough and bumpy lawn (which used to be a field) hadn’t been cut since the early autumn, and this machine was set up in March, meaning that there was a fair bit of lush spring growth for the lawn mower to munch through. You will likely have a range of objects, people and pets on your lawn at any one time and it’s incredibly important for the safe operation of the mower, so you will be pleased to know that at a minimum all robotic mowers will have bump sensors fitted. Higher end robot mowers will also feature object avoidance which will prevent them from bumping / colliding with anything left on the lawn. Cutting Height The mover uses an 18V 2.0 Ah battery that will give it around 60 minutes run-time on the lawn. The manufacture claims that the EasiLife 350 will consume 4 kWh of power over a month if used to its limit.

The cutting width of this mower is a generous 16cm and you have a choice of cutting heights from 20mm to 50mm, which’s from relatively short to quite shaggy. A bumpy lawn should be no problem as the mower can handle slopes of up to 25%. Flymo prefers for you to use their blades. It is also necessary to use official parts if you want to keep the warranty valid, but there are third-party vendors offering blades too. Lithium-ion batteries do have a maximum limit to the amount of times they can be charged. However, you should get several years of use, depending on your schedule, before the battery needs replacing. But when the cells come to the end of their lives, EasiLife batteries are readily available and easy to change. Setting up your mowing area and home recharging station is an experimental yet necessary first part of having a successful relationship between your robot lawnmower and your lawn. When to mowSecure the wire to the ground with pegs – It is recommended that you peg down the boundary wire if you want to make adjustments during the first few weeks of using the robotic lawn mower. Use a hammer or a rubber mallet to secure with the pegs supplied. After a few weeks, the grass will have grown over the wire, making it no longer visible. Setting up your lawn for the robot lawn mower is time-consuming and may test your patience. But from then on, except for the occasional rescue, your mowing chores are done. But that’s where a robot lawn mower really comes in handy. These modern machines provide you with a way to stay on top of lawn maintenance without actually having to lift a finger; aside from the set up, that is. You primarily need to make sure that the mower battery is going to run for long enough to cover most, if not all of the lawn in one session. While these machines will return to their charging station when required, you don’t want them to spend more time charging than they do mowing. You may notice that there are some robotic mower models that are the same size and have the same battery, but are designed for larger lawns. How can this be? Well, the manufacture programs the mower to cut for different lengths of time throughout the day and will provide longer boundary wire and pegs for the larger models.

If you do have a lawn that has a sloped lawn up to 35%, then we recommend choosing a robot lawnmower very carefully. After the wiring has been installed, the machine is a dream. It is quiet and inexpensive to run. The EasiLife 200 gives you a chance to keep on dreaming while it is busy mowing your lawn. There are loads of things to consider so the whole process might feel a little overwhelming. That’s why I thought it would be good to give you some help. I bought the Easilife 350 in Oct 2020 and am very impressed with its functionality on my complex (lots of islands) lawn. I don’t believe that it is lift alarmed, so perhaps is not a later model. However, would be interested to know if it has a rain sensor, in the Lawn sense mode? Again perhaps not, as the mower appears quite happy to trundle round in the pouring rain. There tends to be a build up of grass cuttings on the wheels when it is wet. Can you advise if this model is likely not to have either of these functions, or if there is an upgrade available? Thank you.

EasiLife robotic lawn mowers have greater flexibility than with competitor robotic lawnmowers and can even fit into corners. Just remember to keep a minimum of 2m / 6.6 ft. of free space in front of the charging station. Keep a minimum of 0.3 m / 1 ft. of free space to the right and left of the centre of the charging station. Q. How Do I Install the Boundary Wire?
