Goodfellas (4K UHD Review) - The Digital Bits

It seems to have been released a dozen times on DVD and Blu-ray, but in reality it's probably less than half that in various incarnations and permutations. It features many insightful interviews with Hollywood historians and a few words from Martin Scorsese examining the rise and popularity of the genre. The mid-range is extensive with lots of clarity and details in the upper frequencies and distinct, lifelike acoustics throughout. However, the information given is quite good, even if the accompanying extras double up on it a bit. Henry Hill might be a small time gangster, who may have taken part in a robbery with Jimmy Conway and Tommy De Vito, two other gangsters who might have set their sights a bit higher.Public Enemies: The Golden Age of the Gangster Film– The most robust supplement on the disc is this 106 minute documentary. The veracity of the dialogue, the quick dolly-in and dolly-out shots, the one take steadicam moments, the drug-fueled velocity of the latter half, and the use of realistic but consequential violence—there’s nothing about it that’s out of date.
