This app does not support our mapping-grade receivers: Bad Elf GPS Pro, GPS Pro+, Surveyor, and GPS for Lightning dongle. Closest I've gotten is screenshotting the app when the accuracy is reasonably low, which obviously is not going to work for serious use. Given that it seems to have a fondness for thinking it's considerably off to one side when it's moving, and it loses the signal far more easily than other GPS units, I can't recommend it.

Flex Mini offers different levels of accuracy, depending on the receiver type, the correction method, and the environmental conditions. I now believe that GPS-based anchor alarm is dependent on logic to reject certain wrong fixes while alarming immediately on good fixes showing you adrift. Again, another far cheaper GPS tracker carried in my pocket and compared afterwards showed much more consistent readings.

I'll turn on tracking in the app, which will then show tracking enabled, but I'll later learn it was not actually enabled on the device. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. One issue seems that it won't allow you to connect to another app through this app, meaning you have to choose between this or another collection app (esri feild for examole) Major issue is no way to offload data from bad elf through the app which really sucks. The flip side is that, as with all GPS devices, they are power hungry and so you should not expect to use this for more than a few hours unless you have some form of external power, either via power in your vehicle or an external battery pack. The Bad Elf app will also summarize Trip Details and thus you can see how fast and high I traveled during that 11/3 tracking session.

Ready to collect spatial data in the field, just Bluetooth pair with Flex Mini and open your favorite GIS and mapping app. And note that as nice as Apple iOS is about distributing GPS position info to all apps, it does not seem capable of sharing accuracy and satellites-in-use detail for the GPS built into some iPads (which also cost more with the GPS). Seems to be simple to use and has a lot of features to assist in setting up local rtk as well as checklist workflow for everything.
