This is an easy to read countdown book, using the numbers 1-10. The art is very cute, but isn't anything especially standout, although the unique monster designs are fun. You might recognize the PinkPueblo monster clip art from some of my other printables. These little guys are just too cute to leave alone! Thank you for sharing this book. I do think it is ADORABLE. I am no longer teaching, but have done the first day of school mornings for a friend for the last two years. She had time to do all the paper work and admin. parts of teaching on a first day, and I get to keep the students engaged.

My son says I should publish the books I wrote for them because, as was stated, the books just are not readily available. The ones I wrote have been shared with the neighborhood, and now my grandbabies.

My daughter had a fear of monsters made worse by her older brother. It was before computers, and research was at the library or by word-of-mouth. Somehow, I “brewed up” a top secret monster mood vaporizer (water and vinegar, really stinky) that was sprayed from a small spray bottle. Though the monster still existed, its powers were denigrated. I was looking for M activities and was thinking of making monsters….so this is perfect. I will use it as a read aloud on the first day (tomorrow) and incorporate the activity. Then I will leave a pair of laminated copies in the reading center for future use. (First Grade). As it turns out, monsters are only monsters because they do not understand how it feels to be loved. When we try to love them, or at least like them, even though we do not understand them completely, monsters have less power over us. Please indulge me and tell me it’s adorable.
