Most of the game consists of jumping puzzles and using the characters' special abilities. The thought of the developers' self-awareness softens the blow, but the fact remains that The Simpsons Game is full of video game (particularly platforming) cliches; whether they were intentional or not, they aren't particularly fun to encounter.
