The teachers have all the best things, in the mean time the kids have to do with cold water, frozen windows, frozen toes, they have to stand outside, they have to go outside during storms to have games, it was ridiculous. The third book in the series sees Justice and her friends investigating a ghostly presence that has been reported in the gardens of Highbury House.

They are ideal for children who enjoy the Scoop McLaren Books by Helen Castles, the Clifftoppers books by Fleur Hitchcock, the Agent Zaiba books by Annabelle Sami and are an excellent precursor to the Sinclair’s Mysteries by Katherine Woodfine, the Jane Austen Mysteries by Julia Golding or the Murder Most Unladylike series by Robin Stevens. She's highly intelligent and resourceful, and having grown up with a mother who wrote mystery books, Justice is always on high alert for a mystery. Can she really trust the charming headmistress, Miss de Vere and what goes on in the haunted tower after dark?I appreciated everything about her and if I’d read this as a child I know I would have identified with her except I would have never felt that brave. After all, anything is better than the ghastly food served up in the bleakly Dickensian school into which she’s been unceremoniously thrust. The "Murder most unladylike" series by Robin Stevens is absolutely my favourite series of detective stories. Justice Jones is a super-smart super-sleuth determined to uncover the truth as the body count at her new boarding school starts to rise. Introduced to a whole new world of boarding school terminology with an occasional smattering of Latin, Justice first has to navigate the world of making friends, coping with a strict regimen and the unanimous adoration amongst her peers of head girl, Helena Bliss. Readers watch Justice as she learns how to exist as part of a group, and they may even laugh in sympathy as she discovers she has no skill at athletics. But when Mr Arthur dies in mysterious circumstances, Justice soon has a list of questions in her journal: why hasn’t he been given a proper military funeral?

Her books often explore themes of identity, family, and history, and she has been praised for her ability to balance humour with the darker subject matter. Other cancelled products: If you want to cancel products that are not damaged or incorrectly supplied, then you must inform us of this within seven working days following the date of receipt in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations or otherwise as soon as possible. Justice’s character is very well drawn, showing her independence and intelligence but mixed with a healthy dollop of self-doubt, which makes her a very believable and relatable character for young readers. Det var disse notater Griffiths brugte som udgangspunkt til historierne om Justice og hendes kostskoleliv i den mere farlige ende af skalaen. Her academic background in archaeology has heavily influenced her writing, with many of her novels featuring archaeologists or exploring historical themes.
