You get blasted with straight melon and when I first smelled it I was shocked by how sweet it really was. Don't know how to feel about that, it also has an oakmoss note to me, even though it doesn't say it contains oakmoss.

What I do notice is a brighter, juicier fruity smell that extends into ambery resin, something I can't find to enjoy as much in the original which is now more boring to me. It's like the fruity notes are fresh and you're actually smelling freshly cut Melon and pineapple inside a garden on a beautiful summer day. My SO mentioned that it reminds her of "that kind of guy" on nights out who wears excessive amounts of overpowering cologne, and I agree. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates.After falling in love with the long lasting, beast mode projecting, and compliment getting Al Haramain’s L’Aventure Femme, I was dying to get my hands on another masterpiece from this house. So far, every oud forward fragrance I've tried has come across like a wood stain for the outdoor deck, all synthetic and off-putting, but this oud sits nicely behind the amber and smells amazing. It's one of the first perfumes I've smelled where I quickly closed the cap and ran to wash my hands.
