About this deal

Strathern ( Death in Florence: The Medici, Savonarola, and the Battle for the Soul of a Renaissance City, 2015, etc. In this definitive account of their rise and fall, Mary Hollingsworth argues that the idea that the Medici were wise rulers and enlightened fathers of the Renaissance is a fiction. I’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who appreciates Renaissance painting who is not smitten by the work of Sandro Botticelli.

Hiker with an insatiable curiosity for nature and a love for writing and discovering hidden gems off the beaten path. And we desperately need more work, popularising the Medici, truly the godfathers of the Rinascimento. It may be impossible to know the motivations of an early modern collector or patron, but this book proposes many reasons why Medici rulers and their artists sought to represent the New World and demonstrates the complex ways in which they chose to display the Americas in various media. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. My favorite Italian artists are from the 14th century (Lorenzetti, Martini, Giotto), but if I had to choose a fave from the 15th century, Botticelli would win hands down.

From the relationships with the artists of his time, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, to the terrible conspiracy that led to the murder of his brother Giuliano, this book tells the life of one of the most extraordinary men of the Renaissance. It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. The Library of the Florence Conservatory of Music contains a little manuscript book, which has until now remained almost entirely overlooked. The lack of books and the presence of a pretty ill executed Netflix show are probably indicative of that. During that time, enrolled members of the Osage Indian nation were among the wealthiest people per capita in the world.
