About this deal

Good Rulebook– The rulebook is easy to read and has plenty of illustrations and examples to confirm understanding. It’s a quick and light game, that you can play in around 30 minutes and not feel too taxed afterwards. That’s not really strategic, unless you’re going to try to argue that they should have planned ahead better. You end up with such a nice little forest scene as well, which is pleasant; I like tile-laying games a lot because they leave me with that sense of progression, and I think Legendary Forests is no slouch in that department.

Additionally, one tree covers the entire species region – but you might still want to place a second tree in the same region just to prevent another player from having that color. Be careful not to mix up your unplayed World tiles with the ones you have already added to your Planet.

This fills the bill nicely for those times when you’re playing with the younger set or when you want to be socializing at the same time. One player will have the construction token and they will have the option of taking a Tree token and placing it somewhere in their forest. The druids on the back do a great job of differentiating player color without distracting from the overall aesthetic of the game. You must bear that in mind whilst placing your tiles, particularly towards the end of the game, when tree varieties may be running low. I like that you can expand upward with player count without too much trouble, since players shouldn’t really be interacting over the course of the game (save to pull trees from each other, which does matter, yes, but not as much as other things).

Legendary Forests is a game of tile placement in which you will grow lush new planets of trees and flowers. Set-up includes each player selecting a unique colored set of 25 tiles, laying out the tile numbered 1, and choosing a player to serve as the Architect. Legendary Forests is a light tile placement game where players are given identical tiles and must compete to create a high scoring forest by placing tiles and scoring cards in the best possible way. You also have to pick the right color monuments while they’re available since you only score areas that contain them. After going through the rules, I saw that it was going to be a simple game to learn, but one that would have some great competitive opportunities.

The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network. The game is complete when the full set of 19 tiles have been revealed, and each of the players have created their unique forested world.

I know it’s to add a competitive aspect, but in reality it just means if multiple players need those trees, whoever randomly goes last that round is the one who ends up getting messed up. This leads to the outcome being much more about a player’s strategies and planning rather than lucky tile draws. Each person has the exact same tiles to work from, which takes out most aspects of luck from the game. It is our mission to bring you the latest from the miniature wargaming scene, from narrative missions, hobby how-to tutorials, battle reports, unboxings and reviews, retro flashbacks, news, rumors, and more. That being said, one thing I love about Legendary Forests that I do not see in most tile placement games is the consistency between players’ tiles.Since all of my tiles are face-down, I’m never totally sure what’s still available in terms of connections or possible spaces to close off completed areas. They score two points per full rune if the area is closed in and will only score one point if the area still has any open edges. Our mission is to produce engaging articles like reviews, tips and tricks, game rules, strategies, etc.
