It also lets you know if places are still accessible or if a plaque marks a spot where someone once lived. This is a thorough guide to London which also touches on all of the Royal rulers up to and including King Charles III. It was a lovely little literary adventure that made me desperately want to go back to France in the near future and that gave me plenty of ideas for what to do when I’m there.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. If you thought this was a coffee table book and expected lush photography instead of useful pictures, well, read the book description or even, alas, the title. The author provides an interesting and informative guide about the City of Lights, focusing on its celebrated history housing some of the most literary notables who have lived, loved, and struggled in Paris. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. This is a must-have for anyone taking a trip to London, and a fun read for those of us who are armchair travelers. The author rounds things out with travel tips, including hotels, restaurants and bars either mentioned in books or frequented by authors mentioned in the guide. Well laid out with plenty of photographs and maps and choked full of information on such greats as Victor Hugo, Honoré de Balzac, Marcel Proust, and many more. As a travel lover, and also as a bookworm, every content about the two subjects draws my attention strongly. I'm not royal family fan but I am interested in the history that' is around us and found this book brilliant.

I love London, only been there once, but I adored the hustle and bustle of the lively city, I loved Harrods too. The books featured on this site are aimed primarily at readers aged 13 or above and therefore you must be 13 years or over to sign up to our newsletter.Presented by the sexologist Dr Andrew Stanway, and produced by Robert Page and William Campbell, this became the only non-fiction film to top the UK video charts; it sold 1. Thousands of people come every year to see the stunning places associated with the Royal Family, to watch spectacular ceremonies like Changing of the Guard, The Trooping of the Colour, or simply to explore the history and heritage of Royal London. Information here includes a lot I didn't know about some of the places I visited in the past, so even revisiting those places will be worthwhile. This is an easy to read guide with lots of information about bookish people associated with Paris, locations to visit with address details. For every site, you will find information about opening hours and the nearest metro station with approximate walking time.

One of the things that impressed me the most about this guide is how well the author captured the essence of Paris through her writing.Broken down by period, the book provides information on sites important to literature, as well as information about the authors and their lives. Over the course of ten chapters, Cope provides the reader with a wealth of information geared especially to bibliophiles, of which I am one. The pictures of penises, which are not normally shown in this type of book, are good as they show us men something real and make the techniques easier to understand, rather than simply describing it, or showing a dodgy illustration. People not in a relationship may also find this book enjoyable, as I have also found it a very arousing book to read when my partner is not around! I think that this would be an interesting companion book for someone visiting Paris and could be used as a way of planning a visit around the city.

I hope to spend a few weeks in Paris in the upcoming few years and would love to have a copy of this to help me explore the city ! Many of the entries also include contact information for relevant destinations which will help during planning and execution of book themed trips to Paris.

I almost felt sorry for this couple who confessed that they used to make love as often as ten times a day but now couldn't make love once a day because it was too dangerous . Some of these places I wouldn't have tied to literature, but this book does a wonderful job doing so. A great guide book for those who love Paris and books, and are looking for some unique bookish places explore.
