Magliocco, who entered the wine and spirits industry after attending Yale College and graduating from Harvard Law School, was intimately familiar with Michter’s through his college days of imbibing and bartending and later through his work selling Michter's in New York. Originally known as Shenk’s and later as Bomberger’s, the whiskey company which ultimately became known as Michter’s was founded by John Shenk, a Swiss Mennonite farmer, in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania in 1753. Reflecting the spirit of the Bluegrass State, Michter's US*1 Bourbon is nuanced, mellow, and earthy. It is characterized by rich caramel with balanced vanilla, stone fruit notes, smoky depth, with an oak finish.Magliocco and Newman began with a simple strategy – to honor the Michter’s legacy by producing the best whiskey possible, cost be damned! The US*1 expressions honour Michter's heritage and consist of some of the finest small batch whiskeys available today. Grains are sourced from a handful of US farmers and the spirit matured in charred white oak barrels – which infuses the whiskey with notes of vanilla, wood and spice. Michter’s US 1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon is made from a carefully selected mashbill that features the highest quality American corn. Although the distillery did reopen after the repeal of Prohibition, it changed hands many times over the next few decades and frequently occupied a precarious financial position.

A Spanish gin that is one of only two gins in the world with its own EU Designation of Origin, Xorigeur is based on an 18th century recipe and was popular with the sailors at that time.
