As a picture book, all parents will enjoy reading this story during the daytime or bedtime, the narrative is engaging and the children are fully absorbed in the images. Our 35 th original show was also our first co-production with Swindon’s Sixth Sense Theatre Company, inspired by the book of the same name by Simon Bartram. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned.

was the 15th anniversary of the creation of Bob, Man on the Moon, celebrate with this anniversary edition. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. Bob is a wonderful character and the story itself is simplistic enough to engage any child from three years upwards. Find out what he does on the moon; cleaning and tidying, welcoming visitors, performing tricks for tourists and much more.It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. However, the detailed, period pictures, tell a different story and readers will soon spot the little green men lurking in the background.

Each day, a lanky bachelor named Bob leaves his red-brick townhouse and bicycles to a hilltop launch pad. When the Stupdendous Alacazamo finishes his magic show by making the moon disappear, it looks like Bob might be out of a. But the double page spread in the centre is a BIT MUCH for 3 year olds and because of this, The Man on the Moon cannot be in the bedroom at night-time.

I've managed to get two weeks worth of work out of this one book alone and barely scratched the surface! As the story progresses, the humorous narrative tells the reader that of course there are no aliens and that Bob is a Moon expert, but the illustrations clearly show aliens on each page - stealing his cake, hiding in a crater, in the bath tub. Although at first it doesn't jump out as a 'typical' children's story as the illustrations are of an older style, this is what makes it unique and also what draws the children to it. Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. I felt it both related to ordinary life (here on Earth) and yet provided some imaginative ideas about a place so far away and only seen (generally) at night.

You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot!It is also big fun to discover every hidden aliens on the pages even the one slowly arriving to the Earth in his tiny flying saucer throughout all the pages. Although it's pure fantasy, Bob does ordinary things, like taking sandwiches for his lunch and vacuuming to keep everything clean and tidy.

Having completed his daily crossword on the way, one of his first jobs is to clean up the mess he believes astronauts have created. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. His day ends with final checks, turning on of the moon’s nightlight and a rush-hour rocket ride home! Squeezing in one more, this time a space-going hero that we have loved right from the very start of this blog. This book was shortlisted for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Award (2003) and won the Blue Peter Book of the Year (2004) and it is very easy to see why. Simon has introduced loads of children's books but is perhaps best known for his series of books following Bob the astronaut including, The Alien-Spotter's Handbook and in the picture book sequel Bob's Best Ever Friend. T found the aliens particularly funny, especially when they were hiding in plain sight as Bob went about his business!
