Snow gets the chance to show her family that she’s not the disgrace of the family or the wild child, she’s a strong independent woman and knows what she wants and her family is about to see her stand her ground. I actually liked the characters by the end, but at first I thought his intensity could've been turned down a notch (he would've been more likeable). there were some twists and turns but after a while I just felt that I couldn't wait for the book to finish.
It’s the behaviour the two precious MMCs were ferociously against and determined to put a stop to, but now Montana is glorifying it and presenting it as love? They also have the audacity to be shocked when they are outnumbered and when fmc gets injured even when they don't have the common sense to have a proper escape plan. When he worried over her during the bathroom scene with her period and because he had stalked her for years, he knew how bad this time of the month was for her. There weren't as many spicy moments as I was expecting, although the gun was not something I had ever considered before.It was a scene where Snow (that’s literally the FMC’s name) had run off to the bathroom in pain because of her period, and Elijah (quite a tame name for a mafia boss, but ok…) came looking for her and got extremely worried about her well-being. Promising that he’d move heaven and earth to get her all the comforts and treatment that she’d ever need.
I am not a huge fan of mafia anything because as a genre anything mafia related is notorious for its degrading treatment of women as such I would expect the male characters to be deeply flawed. Because these "chigaco's most dangerous mafia men" didn't have enough manpower to find them so they just sat and waited like fucking idiots. Snow doesn’t understand why Elijah would want her, she knows how the families work they just want good breeding lines and then they are done, but each time Elijah become possessive she makes herself wonder is that all he wants, could he want more and feel what she’s starting to feel. One line in the book is how Snow describes the way Elijah watches her and it is "A predator stalking his prey.I wanted more moments of dual obsession where the passion and love between them was so overpowering that they both felt anxious without the other near. My only qualm with this book was - the first kiss either wasn’t mentioned (hey, I’m a romantic, I enjoy the smut but I LIVE for that first kiss) or it was mentioned and it was on their wedding day….
just bc your body is reacting to stimulation doesn’t mean you actually want it and girls should be conscious of that. Elijah boy oh boy I think he's my fave guy in this series so far he is everything you want in a alpha OTT boyfriend! I must admit that i wasnt 100% sure about it in the beginning Stalker posessive guy watches a girl for 10 years while planning to kidnap her and by one way or another make her his, which made me think of a modern day version of beauty and the beast but with the beast being a dominant, violent, emotionally unavailable rival mafia lord who is obessseed with a somewhat spoilt, stroppy, argumentative girl. I was super excited to read Elijah’s story after the last book because there was something so damn dark but so damn alluring about him.I was actually far more invested in where this random threat was going than I normally am in a romance novel! One thing I noticed is that the women cry a lot in this series, but they do go through a lot too so. She is kidnapped, she is blackmailed into staying kidnapped such that her family aren’t killed, she is nearly r*ped by Elijah’s security (despite Elijah apparently handpicking the best of the best), then r*ped with a weapon, r*ped by him and then, even after she YELLS “STOP”, Elijah comes in her regardless. You are telling me that 6 people who are highly intelligent and were involved in the mafia from the beginning got bested by a single women ?
This is swiftly followed by “I’m sorry I’ve upset you but you have to understand this is your life now. Elijah knew what he wanted he wants a queen to rule beside him not behind him, there relationship is rocky at first since she doesn't trust him and doesn't love the idea of being away from her family plus hes OTT for her lol. Snow was a great character in the previous books and seeing her come into her own and fall in love with the deliciously dark Elijah was stunning. But seeming as how it’s meant to… invoke certain feelings in the reader, it was a little (ok, extremely) hard to swallow and wrap my mind around it.Life hasn’t always been kind to Montana, but each of the challenges she has faced she has turned into a positive outcome, and has made her want to achieve her dream that much more.
