I sometimes have to unplug and plug the cable to the T3 dock when I turn on the MacBook to get the dual monitor display working but that’s reasonable since there are effectively 3 docks between the laptop and the monitor. Covering the screws is a 3-inch long strip of rubber with an anchor that doubles as a screw-down for Apple's MagSafe 2 power adapter. I've never been able to get my head around the two screens of an open laptop and a big monitor; I prefer one large screen.
Before inserting the MagSafe connector, you need to place it in the proper rectangular clip of the three included. We ended up placing the unit right next to our HDTV's input panel to have quick access to a short HDMI cable left dangling from the television. It’s not a problem - it functions great once it’s in - however it’s not as perfect as the previous generation.
