About this deal

Our verdict? The camera performs great. I wouldn't say it's all that much better than, say, a 1080p webcam, but with the additional HDR support, it does look clearer compared to other webcams. Would I say 4K is a bit of overkill right now? Yeah, I would. You can get by taking 1080p video with this webcam, and it still looks super amazing, so the 4K stuff is more future proofing than anything. It's still great to have, and something I'm glad the camera has built into it. Audio quality

To stream and broadcast video, Logitech recommends XSplit Broadcaster (xsplit.com). As an alternative, you can use OBS (OBproject.com).Windows Hello is a fun, personal, and fast way to log into your Windows 10 PC. Just show your face, and you're in. Hello is a biometric system that also supports fingerprint readers and other devices, but the face sign-in is what it's known for. Logitech's documentation says that the Brio is certified for Windows Hello because of its IR sensor, and the plug-and-play installation will let you set it up for Hello use in the Windows Settings app. The BRIO 4K is super fast with Windows Hello, making logins almost instant. That's the case with most Windows Hello facial recognition peripherals, however. I'm just super glad to see Logitech finally adopt Windows Hello integration into its webcams, and the BRIO 4K is an excellent Hello device. I'd even say I recommend the BRIO 4K based on Windows Hello functionality alone. That's how important Windows Hello is to me. Logitech software The BRIO is both an excellent Windows Hello camera and an excellent webcam, making it the perfect choice for consumers looking to get into the Windows Hello space. Facial recognition is fast and super simple to set up. It works just like any other Windows Hello peripheral. You plug it in, head to the Settings app in Windows 10, and set it up. No additional software is needed. To record videos or take pictures, Logitech recommends the Microsoft Camera App available from the Windows store, fully compatible with Logitech BRIO STREAM. The Link is a very impressive webcam — maybe a little too impressive. Realistically, the Link is probably overkill for all but a very small user demographic. 4K resolution isn’t even possible in most web conferencing apps, and capture modes such as “portrait mode,”“top-down mode,” and “desktop mode” are fun to play with but aren’t terribly beneficial unless you already know how you’re going to use them.

The C930e has the same sensor as the C920s Pro, but it has an upgraded lens with a wider field of view — 90 degrees versus the C920s Pro’s 78 degrees. This wider field of view is useful not only because it allows you to display an unnecessary amount of your home office, but also because it adds 4x digital zoom (the C920s Pro also offers digital zoom through Logitech’s Logi Capture software). Digital zoom is useful on a webcam because zooming in gives you some control over camera positioning (tilt/pan), which is handy if your webcam isn’t ideally positioned. The most useful setting in the Logitech app may be the one that lets you select the field of view, with choices of 90, 78, and 65 degrees. I found that 90 degrees was a bit wide for standard video calling while seated in front of the PC, and that 78 degrees looked right. Advanced settings in the app let you adjust brightness, contrast, and color intensity. It also lets you switch from autofocus and auto white balance to manual adjustment of focus and white balance settings with sliders. I’m an avid bird photographer and traveler—I’ve been to 40 countries, many with great birds! Because I’m also a classical fan and former performer, I’ve reviewed streaming services that emphasize classical music. You get the option of 90-degree, 65-degree or 78-degree field of view to choose from. Each angle offers a different field-of-view perspective. By default, it's on 90 which is the widest available angle. This takes in as much as the camera sensor will allow, making for a much wider image. The 78-degree and 65-degree options are steps down from that, making the image more compact while maintaining a 16:9 aspect ratio. I was able to verify the 4K capability using Windows 10's included Camera app, which indeed let me record a video at 3,840-by-2,160 pixels, for 8.3 million pixels, which is what you expect with 4K. I also tested 4K broadcasting with a YouTube live stream, though compression for network bandwidth made the result not as sharp as the 4K you see on, say, ESPN on your HDTV.

Supports multiple connection types, including USB 2.0 Type A and USB 3.0 Type A and C connections -Custom carrying case

BRIO ULTRA HD PRO BUSINESS WEBCAM

Pre-pandemic, webcams were mostly an afterthought — built into your laptop's bezel as a convenience, nothing more. They weren't good, but we didn't use them enough to care. But since the pandemic made remote working the norm, the market for external webcams has exploded.

It's impossible to recommend a universally perfect webcam, because there are so many different ways to use webcams these days. It's not as easy as going for ultra high-res 4K and calling it a day — most of the common video conferencing platforms (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) don't support higher than 720p or 1080p resolution, anyway. (Plus, if you've never looked at a close-up of your skin in ultra-high-def 4K, trust me — it's unnecessary.) AnkerWork B600 Video Bar: This webcam has strong visual fidelity and a number of conference-call friendly features like a speaker and a built-in light bar with touch controls, but its price makes it a poor option for anyone who doesn't need those extras. Resolution: It's easy to be wooed by that 4K label, but make sure you actually want — and can use — an ultra high-res webcam. Common web conferencing apps such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams limit your outgoing video stream to 720p or 1080p, so it's unlikely your coworkers will benefit from that extra quality unless you plan on zooming (higher-res webcams will offer more detail in zoomed-in shots). You can also record locally at 4K, at least on Windows 10 with the camera app. If you're a Mac user, you may find that 4K isn't supported out of the box. You may be able to get 4K working with some third party software, but the default camera app on Mac does not do 4K. On Windows 10, it worked pretty much instantly. It's a plug-and-play webcam, so no additional drivers are needed. You just plug it into a USB 3.0 port, and you're good to go.RightLight 3 with HDR for clear image in various lighting environments, ranging from low light to direct sunlight Field of View (FOV): Webcams with wider FOVs show more of the room. This is good if there will be multiple people in the shot, or if you're planning on presenting using a visual aid such as a white board. It's not so good, however, if you have a thrown-together work-from-home setup and you don't want viewers to see the mess around you.
