About this deal

LEGEND EAU DE PARFUM by Montblanc is a fragrance for men that is included in the Oriental Woody family. The reinterpretation of the LEGEND Eau de Toilette fragrance, which reveals the elegance and sophistication of the active man. Legend EDP is about the same. The violet leaf and leather doesn’t really change when it can be worn compared to the EDT version. The leather isn’t that intense and the violet leaf works pretty much year round. Legend EDP is a similar take on the original, but with some slight differences. Less of the top fruity notes, upping the violet leaf, and a leather/woody base coming through. The opening act isn’t all that great, but the dry down gets better for me. Montblanc Legend EDP plays with three addictive fragrance families: woody, aromatic and fougere. From the very first spritz, the Eau de Parfum awakens the senses with an energising bergamot note and fresh violet leaves. The heart contains a bouquet of florals, including magnolia, geranium and heady jasmine for a touch of elegance as the scent warms into a new vibrant woody core. The Eau de Parfum finishes with a captivating trail of sensual leather and oak moss that’s reminiscent of the forest floor.

As a connoisseur of this line, I can start by saying that between the EDT and the EDP, the latter is clearly ahead. Even compared to the Emblem, another one I've had, the Legend EDP turns out to stand out. If you’re a fan of Legend Eau de Toilette and you’re looking for an intense, bold and mysterious fragrance, you’ll love the enhanced and concentrated aroma of Montblanc Legend Eau de Parfum.

Confident and assured, the LEGEND man lives his feelings, courage, and convictions. Yet without saying a word, we sense his purpose, charisma, and authenticity; Montblanc Legend Eau de Parfum invites all men to challenge themselves and to discover what kind of a Legend they are. Which is better? I’m not a huge fan of the original Legend, but I like the opening act more so than the EDP. It has way more personality. The EDP just sits there as a giant dose of violet leaf on my skin, with some additional notes lurking around, but not really standing out.

Pleasant and fresh smell, right on top. The bergamot stands out in an initial phase, but minutes later comes the scent of very smooth leather, with a light but elegant touch of cedar. It doesn't smell like animal leather, far from it, it's almost aromatic. Even the notes of wood are very delicate. Legend EDT gives me 5-6 hours of solid wear. During testing, I’ve gotten between 6.5-8 hours of wear from the EDP version. Neither one is going to give a marathon type of wear, but the EDP has the clear edge here. During one day (around 12:00, assuming I applied it the first time before leaving for work at 8:00 am), I had to reapply once more during the afternoon (around 3:00 pm) because at lunch time neither I nor anyone else felt the fragrance (it was close to the skin). But that doesn't surprise me, even though it's an EDP (still way better than EDT). The leathery character of this scent is intensely masculine. Originally created from actual scrap leather infused with burnt birch peel, a leather accord is now primarily birchbark essence free of animal-based products. When this particular product is first applied, bergamot and violet leaf come to the fore. Next middle notes of jasmine, woody notes and magnolia burst on to the scene. Finally a billow of oak moss and leather climbs to round out the olfactory experience. Montblanc Perfumes: Pricing Between these two? I’d rather wear the EDT. Again, I’m not even much of a fan of Legend, but it at least has some more personality. The EDP is closer to A&F Fierce or Egoiste Platinum, than is the EDT, but isn’t as good as either of those fragrances.SENSITIVE AND WITH CHARACTER. Although they seem two contradictory characteristics, Legend shows us that they can go hand in hand, their aroma allows us to discover our most sensitive and romantic side and perfectly balance it with strength and impetus. Honestly, the fragrance strikes me as just fine. If you liked the original, you’ll probably like the eau de parfum, even if you don’t necessarily need a bottle for yourself. Legend eau de parfum starts off with a pretty strong violet leaf note, some bergamot, and leather. It’s fresh and somewhat green, with what I’m guessing is their synthetic oakmoss substitute. There’s really not much going on here, it feels pretty flat. Legend opens with a blend of pineapple, bergamot, and apple. It is clean, but doesn’t have the same type of sharpness, as it is calmed by lavender and tonka bean. It also has a dry underlying aroma from the base, that will become more prominent later on.
