About this deal

The call them the “Three Rivers” but its really two rivers joining together to form the third. One surrendering to the other to become something bigger and much more important. The rivers are not lesser for moving on and joining together, they are broader stronger, and lead to so many more opportunities—as one. I absolutely loved the banter between Althea and Griffen. Their conversations made me laugh, cry and experience many "ah" moments. As for the girl talk Althea had with her friends Jenna and Aubrey it was among the best ever. The talks flowed from serious to hysterical to angry to loving and caring and we're written in such a way I truly felt a part of each. Jenny is up front in this story and have to say I started to worry about her safety. I was with Tanner on this one and was as frustrated as him at times when she doesn’t listen to sense. It does make for some tense reading in part as this usual happy couple are pushed to the limits with the recent murders, as well as a new member of staff that has jenny feeling threatened in her relationship with Tanner. Three Rivers blew me away. I can’t get over the fact that this is the debut novel for author Chloe T. Barlow. She is clearly exceptionally talented and was meant to write this story! Three Rivers was the perfect blend of romance, suspense, action and thrill. I didn’t find the story to be predictable or overdone.

Tea and Griffin’s story progresses as they start to realize they have a real connection. Will they find real love and heal each other? You’ll just have to read to find out. I won’t spoil the mystery of this story for you cause it’s a good one. For her debut book, I think Chloe hit it out of the park. It gave me more then I wanted. It kept me up reading until I fell asleep with my ipad in my hand and then I couldn’t put it down at all the next day. I can’t wait until her next book. Only…when feelings grow and an undeniable attraction and connection builds between them, what will they do? Will Althea give love a second chance despite the anguish and despair that she still carries? And will Griffin, a man running from his past, ever find foreclosure and love?

Now add in two other male suitors who are interested in the fair Althea as well as some secrets, angst, and a heartbreaking revelation that could turn deadly and you’ve got yourself a story! Ann: ‘I like really complex locations, places that hit you and strike you. Places that have different communities within them. I grew up in North Devon so I know it quite well and I like that mix of cosiness – we think of Devon as having cream teas and thatched cottages and there is a little bit of that about it but there’s more rugged and left behind than people realise and because it has Ilfracombe, an old-fashioned seaside town, with big hotels and guest houses, they’ve now become hostels for the homeless, places where drifters and transients come and go and I like very much that mix of different people.’ Althea, a young widow, has determined she will never find love again. Her friends and family are the only ones she allows close after the loss of her husband shattered her heart.

Seventeen-year-old Stella lives a life in the spotlight. She has everything she’s ever dreamed of—a recurring role on a hit TV show, a cute co-star to crush on, and a rebellious showbiz best friend. She shines on set, but off-screen it’s a different story. Drugs, drinking, and shoplifting litter the life of this troubled teen. And when Stella throws a party that leads to the overdose of her co-star, her career hangs in the balance. As she contemplates what her future holds, she is ripped from her bed in the middle of the night by two strangers. I felt connected to the characters, suffered through Althea's pain at such an immense lose of a loved one. The friendships that Althea has with her 2 BFFs is strong. Their support helps her through one of the most tragic times in her life. Bruised and battered emotionally she goes through life living for her dead husband and their child. He is her life line and her sanity. Loved the mystery behind the death of Althea's husband... I would have liked to have gotten to know him better and maybe spent more time on the events leading up to his death.NOTE – This review will be about the book, not Sarah’s abhorrent behavior towards a reviewer. Her behavior is between her and g*d; this book review is between me and goodreads. Gorgeous. That was the only word that kept going through his head. The only word he could say about her. He hadn’t wanted any of the other women staring at him from around the bar but this one was another thing altogether. She looked like exactly what he needed to take the edge off his internal shit storm. He had to have her. This is an enticing coming of age story. That begins dark, yet grows into something I was not expecting. Stella has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember, and she has done it. She is part of a show and is succeeding in that part of her life. In every other part she is spiraling down a drain. Looking for acceptance and friendship in everyone she comes across. Being used for drugs and in exchange for a "friendship". This destructive behavior leads to a horrifying night, when one of the other castmates overdoses at Stella's home.

Three Rivers is a tremendous story about love, loss and the struggles of moving on and the healing of souls. In later works, please refrain from making fun of actual people. That bit about Jamie Lee Curtis having leathered skin? What was that for? She looks phenomenal especially at her age, AND IS A REAL PERSON. What was gained by shitting on a real person? Jenny and Tanner are living their normal lives, on Tanner's boat, and Jenny is trying hard to get Tanner to learn how to sail. She spent her youth on the water and enjoyed it, and thinks he would too - if she can only persuade him to try it. She ends up spending time with an old friend called Rob, a good-looking fella who is also of the sailing variety. They find a body, to their horror, and this starts off a whole chain of events which puts Jenny in grave danger. Imagine marrying your college sweetheart, your relationship is solid, you think you have your whole lives ahead of you and then one night it all comes to a horrible end. I love that I read a book about my transplant hometown. Chloe did a great job making Pittsburgh, Pittburgh. You can tell she lives here and she was able to add in all the things about the city people love and hate, including the crazy bridge traffic and construction. I mean really, in a city with more bridges than anything else, why is there always traffic on them?
