About this deal

Many users have complained about the static in the Fellow Ode. We have previously shared our solutions to the coffee static problem. However, a drop of water works better than most other fixes. Cleaning And Maintenance The second issue I have is that the automatic stopping doesn't always work. I had a few cases where it stopped while there still was coffee to be ground, and some other times it doesn't stop when it's done. I think these two are connected, though. The Fellow Ode Grinder is very easy to use. To grind, weigh out your beans, select your preferred grind setting, and press the start button. One of the very outstanding features of the Fellow Ode grinder is its auto-stop function. The grinder can detect zero resistance in the burrs and automatically turn it off. The grind produced by the Ode is extremely consistent. Every Aeropress cup I've made with the Ode has been full and flavorful with no sour notes. Aeropress with the Breville was usually very good as well, but there would be the occasional cup that was slightly off. Haven't had that happen with the Ode yet.

To counter this, the company has added antistatic technology. It works. If you pour coffee grounds from the catch cups from the original and the new generation, you will notice significantly more static mess from the coffee grounds in the original Fellow Ode. AUTO ATOP Ode knows exactly when the last bean has been ground and automatically shuts itself off. Product Specification Dimensions

Now you can go from roasted bean to final brew all by using a Fellow product. The 64mm Stainless Steel Flat Burr, ideal for filter coffee enthusiasts, is driven by a Smart speed PID-controlled motor that is tuned to maintain a steady RPM whilst grinding. The intuitive control recognises when your coffee is ground and shuts the motor off with an auto-stop function. This grinder is fairly quiet and the noise is a low frequency one, which is much more tolerable to a whine you get from some other products. The speed and quality of the grind is great and I enjoy my coffee much more than I did so before. It offers a reduced grind noise level, a welcome feature for those early morning grinds. Another unique attribute of the Ode is its auto-stop feature, which eliminates the risk of leaving the grinder on for too long. Cons Single-dose or add 80g to the hopper to always achieve maximum freshness. With 31-stepped grind settings, it's a pleasure to adjust the grind with a smooth turn of the large, on-the-front grind dial. The huge grind adjustment knob is a pleasure to use, although we found ourselves wishing the Ode would go just a tad finer to provide even more flexibility in slowing down flow through the coffee bed when brewing a pour-over with very light-roasted beans.

Fellow spent two years developing the next generation of their award-winning home brew grinder. From the finest pour-overs to the coarsest cold brews, your coffee will never be the same again. Easy grind adjustment – Dial in the perfect pour-over with 31-stepped settings using the large turn dial. The Ode Brew Grinder Gen 2 focuses on getting the very best from your filter coffee. Its burr set and motor means that unfortunately, it's not suitable for espresso brewing. The new Fellow Opus takes on that responsibility instead, as well as being adaptable to a whole range of other brew methods. We'd also recommend the Eureka Mignon Specialitaas a great all-rounder which handles espresso very well. If espresso isn't on your mind, the Ode Gen 2 is a step up for folks who really want to experience all that a premium coffee grinder can offer. Nevertheless, if you mainly brew espresso, or other coffee using a fine grind size, the grinder may not be suitable. There is the option of the upgraded SSP burr set for grinding 200 microns finer than the original burrs, which allows for more dialing in for the finer range. However, it’s quite an expensive option. Ease Of Use And what of the noise problem? Well, that smart speed motor means the Fellow Ode runs consistently under 60 decibels throughout grinding. Better still, it also contributes to an increasing grind particle consistency.
