The last flagship phone in the HTC One series was the HTC One M9, which was announced and released in 2015. Its successor, the HTC 10, is HTC's 2016 flagship phone; however, it did not use the "One" branding in the name. Its successor, the 2017 HTC U11, did not use the "One" branding either. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that’s certainly the case with the OnePlus 3. It set the standard for “affordable flagships” and since its introduction with seen the likes of Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, Alcatel, Realme and more follow a similar formula - with varying degrees of success. One thing HTC has been pretty good at over the last few phone generations is in experimenting with different phone constructions. We’ve seen mobiles made of plastic, ceramic and metal – often within the same range. It wasn't just the bendy screen technology that resonated with us though. The screen was bigger because of that curved tech, and it was just a genuinely well built phone with a beautiful glass design.
As you might have guessed – we still like it. In fact we still think the HTC One is one of the best mobile phones on the market even though it’s not quite as fast as some of the newer competitors.

The HTC One can play pretty much every game the newer top-end phones can handle (that we’ve tried) and sequential updates have only improved the performance of the phone. camera with auto focus, smart LED flash, BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, dedicated imaging chip 2, continuous shooting, digital image stabilization. The only downside is that the colours are a little warm, so whites look a little yellow, at least when compared to the Super AMOLED display on the Samsung Galaxy S6, for example. This can be quite a common problem with AMOLED panels, but it’s not something I find particularly bothersome on this particular handset. The screen’s peak brightness is also a little low at 347.19cd/m2 when you put it up against its LCD-based rivals, but again this isn’t out of the ordinary for AMOLED display.
