You can connect the Tineco Floor One S3 to the app, where you can see the real-time performance monitoring of the cordless vacuum. However, the app is not very useful for everyday cleaning because that same information can be found on the LED display. The display shows the battery percentage, the strength of the Wi-Fi, the suction power indicator, other signs of malfunctions, hair tangles and more. There are video tutorials on everything from how to fill and empty the water containers, to removing the brush roller and cleaning. Furthermore, you can tell the cleaner whether you’re using cleaning solution or cleaning with water only, this allows it to adjust settings if necessary, although this can be done without the app too. Only this time, the ONE S3 comes with certain processes and systems that make it automated. And, unlike the Dyson rival, you don’t have to worry about leaky tanks as both are nicely sealed to prevent spills. I only wish the clean water tank had a bigger capacity; right now, it only holds enough water for one and a half cleaning of my one-bedroom apartment. This means I have to refill after every clean. The Tineco Floor One S3 is equipped with a mopping function and a soft roller brush that make it a perfect choice for those who have mostly hard floors in their homes. The new machine has had troubles from day one. When trying to twist the handle (within its limits) to get under low objects the machine would cut out and now eight months later, it will not charge. Upon closer inspection the charge ports on both the machine itself and the base station have rusted ?? (One would assume they should use rust free parts on a mop !!) Despite its steeper price, however, the Floor One S7 Pro sits at the top of the pile, thanks to its excellent performance and robust feature set. It’s also a better-value proposition than the much pricier Dyson V15s Detect Submarine, especially since the Dyson has a few niggles. The Tineco iFLOOR 3 is an entry model compared to the Tineco FLOOR ONE S3. The latter supports smartphone integration and voice assistance, among others.

The LED screen doesn’t have touch capabilities, but it’s incredibly bright and vibrant, and displays just about everything you need to interact with the vacuum, from giving you visual step-by-step instructions when going through the interactive tutorial to showing visual representations of the different modes and self-cleaning options. Although, since it’s not a touch screen, you still have to use the physical buttons to do so. This screen also offers alerts and prompts like the Smart Sensor indicator turning from blue to pink to red depending on the amount of dust or dirt the vacuum is “sensing”, and telling you when it’s time for self-cleaning or charging. On top of the main body of the cleaner, there’s a large round screen which displays the battery percentage as well as whether you’re cleaning in max or auto mode. There are also a number of other symbols which light up to alert you of issues such as when the dirty water tank needs emptying or the self-clean program needs running. A light ring around the edge of the screen changes color depending on the level of dirt detected. It’s red when the cleaner detects a high level of dirt and turns to blue as the floor becomes cleaner.
