About this deal

Barton, Fritz (2014). "Skin Resurfacing". In Charles Thorne (ed.). Grabb and Smith's Plastic Surgery (7ed.). Philadelphia: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. p.455. ISBN 978-1-4511-0955-9. For practical purposes, there are three methods of resurfacing: mechanical sanding (dermabrasion), chemical burn (chemical peels), and photodynamic treatments (laser ablation or coagulation).

Glass CO2 laser tubes rely on direct current, DC, to excite the carbon dioxide gas. Machines with DC tubes are mostly used for nonmetal materials, such as acrylic, wood, leather, plastic, paper or bamboo. The beam diameter, also called the laser spot size, tends to be larger with glass tubes. However, glass beams still produce good work, especially when it comes to engraving. Because it does rely on DC, the pulsing action is not that fast, so engraving speeds tend to be lower. However, with a glass tube that has been thoroughly tested like from Thunder Laser, you are able to achieve much faster engraving speeds because of the higher quality glass tube. All glass tubes are handmade, so being able to choose the “cream of the crop” is very important from a performance perspective. Metal Laser Tubes We recommend using the OMTech CW-5200 industrial chiller with distilled water to maximize the laser tube’s lifetime. The active laser medium (laser gain/ amplification medium) is a gas discharge which is air- or water-cooled, depending on the power being applied. The filling gas within a sealed discharge tube consists of around 10–20% carbon dioxide ( CO With a working area of 320 x 200 mm, you’re not going to be cutting and engraving wood planks or acrylic slabs anytime soon, but you will be intricately designing jewelry, leather wallets, and other small-scale projects with professional finesse. The laser machines will be equipped with unique configurations (only for machines on www.cloudraylaser.com) which have high stability and marking efficiency. DC laser sources are typically contained within a glass laser tube. In the glass tube of the DC laser, there is a mixture of different gases: Nitrogen (by far the highest proportion of the gas mixture), carbon dioxide (as the laser-active medium), helium (to effectively dissipate the heat loss), and oftentimes hydrogen and xenon. By applying a high voltage to the electrodes in the tube, current begins to flow. The electrodes must be designed as feedthroughs through the glass body. These feedthroughs are weak points in the laser, and as temperatures fluctuate, the impermeability of the laser tube is difficult to ensure. This is because metals expand more than glass when the temperature rises. Glass and metal thus exert increasing pressure at higher temperatures due to thermal expansion. The sealing is therefore subject to higher forces and may show a leak during cooling (after many thermal load cycles).
