As an all-in-one unit (large display , decoding of DMR/NXDN/PROVOICE/P25 , Networking VOIP) i would say this unit is probably the best out there for its price range . No obscenities, discriminatory, abusive, or other content not suitable in public or for younger readers.

When the Software Defined Scanners came along with uniden punching through the market with their flagship SDS100/200 I thought it was worth a shot . Scanners are wide band radio receivers that cover arange of frequencies. Most have "gaps" in their coverage and generally the more you pay the fewer gaps they have. The main gap that the cheaper scanners haveis the UHF Military Airband. Repeater Find – Allows the scanner to try to switch to the repeater frequency if an input frequency is found. All in all, it's a great scanner and I look forward to many years of fun with it. I hope to buy an SDS 100 soon so I can have a portable scanner as good as the SDS 200. Another thing is the database which is dedicated to the US/Canada, We dont have access to such a database outside of those coutries. Therefore we have to manually build our own favourite/scan lists which can be time consuming .they can be software loaded for ease because with trunking you have multiple Frequencies and Alpha tags ( ID numbers and Names) for each Search Avoids – You can temporarily Avoid up to 250 frequencies and permanently Avoid up to 250 frequencies in any Search mode or Close Call mode.

GPS Compatible – Connect to a GPS receiver (not included) for precise system selection and continuing reselection when you travel. The scanner will automatically select what to scan based on your current location as provided by an external GPS unit.

Just really read up and get some opinions on the SDS200...
