However, the book seems to be selling Craig's programme all the time and it gets especially cringeworthy at the end. This does make you doubt the rest of the book, which is problematic. Growing up, I sort of felt out of place. While I was approved of in school because I was the “good basketball player” I always felt like I just did not always quite fit in and felt awkward. Demands don’t work on me. Threats push me farther into defense mode. We are still getting a divorce.

Firstly, stop drinking, I mean today… right now.I have read quite a few books on the subject but this one has been the best, the One that clarified many aspects, fully satisfied me. I listened to this on audiobook and it didn’t take a lot of time. Very interesting book. I also recommend Alcohol Explained and The Naked Mind- available on audio. Not good. Felt sh..tty and guilty about not advising my wife I resumed my test to see if I could drink and she caught me in a lie. I really felt like a failure. You’ve given me a simple, logical explanation to why drinking has become such a problem this last couple years. I think the audible gives the correct emphasis on the points Craig is making. He's obviously a gifted speaker and his talents really help drive home his beliefs.

Yes, that was bad, but then again a lot of things in my life were bad by that point and there were far, far, far more problems than just my drinking, or his drinking, or, or, or! All these 'willpower' based attempts to stop drinking failed (exactly as they were destined to do). Slowly he discovered the truth about alcohol addiction and one by one all the lies he had previously believed started to fall apart. For the first time he noticed that he genuinely didn’t want to drink anymore. In this book he will lead you though the same amazing process. So now you have two problems; one created by the booze, and one that was there in the first place. The discomfort of the first imbalance makes you create the second imbalance, and you get trapped in a never-ending loop. That's what's so great. The basic principle that there is no good reason or need to ingest alcohol. It's been ingrained in our belief systems since we were children and its a tremendous money making industry. I will not be influenced by the drug pushers of alcohol any longer.Books like these helped me get clear and aligned so that I do not have to make daily decisions about alcohol. I simply know the truth about it for me. Some good stuff in here but it's a frustrating book in need of a proof-reader. This is a barely-modified take on Allen Carr's Easy Way but much thinner on meat, and full of sales pressure to buy his stuff (bibliomercial?). There are also too many lazy and misguided pop culture ideas presented as science, even those that contradict each other - an editor with scientific grounding might have helped. The fact that the author has written seduction manuals for men also makes my bs alarms ring...sham-wow. He calls a spade a spade and tells it how it is, alcohol is dangerous, addictive poison that is mis-sold by the advertising industry as something sexy and desirable, when in truth it is a life shortening, carcinogenic drug, that does nothing positive in any of our lives.

So I decided to look for a pill to help take some of the load. Even though I’m allergic to most meds out there I didn’t care. I needed help in some way and a pill was a perfect answer in my thinking. My grandfather on my mother’s side and his brother both had a SERIOUS drinking problem. His brother finally stopped drinking and asked his mom- my nana, to no matter what it takes give him his daily pill to help not drink. 1.5 years later, clean and sober, he was killed. If you are currently dependent on alcohol to the point where if you stop you experience traumatic physical symptoms such as spasms, fitting, fever, and vomiting. I hope and pray it does the same for all who read it! I hope and pray that the societies NORM will be forever changed! After college, my early adult working life was filled with happy hours and club hopping. Making and keeping friends seemed to revolve around a tamed down version of college shenanigans, with a sense of responsibility due to having to “get up for work in the morning.” One of my brothers got spared this life of strife and angst and died when he was very, very young. My 2 other brothers and myself were not spared this lifestyle and family NORM. Smoking and drinking go hand in hand in my family. Firstly, the discomfort will go away if you take a drink of alcohol, and secondly, that pain will dissipate if you give it long enough.
