About this deal

The Modern Way Tarot cardsare all based on theoriginal Pamela Colman Smith designs but recreated for the 21st century. You’ll find a perfect balance of vibrancy and minimalism, from lively colors and strong contrasts to the powerful use of elements and shapes.

The instruments of the suits – Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles actually appear in the cards and the animals are shown interacting with them. Many Tarot readers are confused, however, as to what the snake represents in one of the cups of the 7 of Cups. In this case, the snake symbolizes the same thing as it does in the Lovers card. The snake is in the cup because sexuality and earthly pleasures are one of the choices which the figure can make, the others being money, beauty, spirituality, and so on. TORTOISE Dogs are read differently depending on where you come from. For example, because I am a Romany Gypsy, I read dogs to symbolize work. However, in the West, dogs are read to represent friends, followers, and confidants. The cat on the Queen of Wands has always been a bit of a mystery. Cats are obviously associated with intuition and psychic ability, so you would probably be much more likely to see one on the Queen of Cups, not the Queen of Wands. In Lenormand divination, fish can represent money, business, and commerce. They also symbolize emotions and feelings, and this is especially true when fish appear in Tarot.

On the other hand, these cards have been used to convey the teaching of the now-deceased Zen Master, Osho. As such, the cards’ meanings are described in a way that makes you feel you’re being lectured, and often certain concepts or actions seem like statements that not many people would agree with unless you’re an Osho Zen supporter. Once you feel comfortable as a reader, you consider venturing out a bit. The Everday Witchis a cool option for those wanting to embrace the witch within. Animal Guides or Totems are animals which choose you and are with you for the duration of your life. They serve many functions such as mentor, friend, companion, and protector. Historically, the dove has always been a symbol of peace, spiritual trinity, and grace. It appears on the Ace of Cups above a cup overflowing which embraces the energy of new beginnings in love and the tranquil feelings that come with it. Fish By the time we make our way to the Ten of Pentacles, the white dog, again, makes an appearance (this time, there are two instead of one). However, in this instance, the dog is controlled, tame, and has had its hair trimmed. The owners of these dogs can afford to take their pets to the groomers. The white dog has now become a symbol of the Ten of Pentacles’ meaning.A bull is depicted on the throne of the King of Pentacles tarot card. The bull is concerned with the astrological sign of Taurus who is a lover of indulgence, materialism, and luxury. Bulls tend to be determined and stubborn, which mirrors the King of Pentacles who is a successful leader through their hard work and ambitious drive. Cat The horse in the Six of Wands, almost completely covered in a coat which matches the inner garment of his rider. Is this the leader having their moment of glory, turning their horse into a magnificent throne? The horse temporarily subdued; perhaps a message for the rider to treat their subordinates well, for victory can be short-lived. Rider Waite Smith 6 of Wands

The dog and the wolf on these cards are there to remind the seeker to use both intuition and common sense when making decisions. There is no clear-cut way with the Moon, no this and that. All choices must be made on their own merit and dealt with individually at that particular time. There cannot be too much listening to the spirit or too much following to the mind. Both must work in harmony if the seeker wishes to achieve the best outcome. They kept the symbolisms almost identical while putting more emphasis on important elements, making these tarot cards easier to understand and use. The Modern Way’s Major Arcana Cards It really goes into the depths of all possible interpretations of the cards, which will in turn give you great insights into any questions you might be having. Any animal which swims can usually be interpreted to represent emotions and feelings because this is what water is generally aligned with. Therefore, as a general rule, you can say that water creatures usually signal some type of emotion, and you can generalize this to all water animals. For one, it is easy to understand based on the imagery alone. Take the Six of Swords for example. You can see just by looking at this card that one is (or will soon) be leaving a person, place, or situation behind.

Many diviners mistake the creature on the King of Wands for being a generic lizard. However, it is actually a salamander - salamanders represent the element of fire. So, this one on the King of Wands is a node to the fact that Wands are associated with the element of fire in the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot tradition. Salamanders are associated with fire because it used to be believed that they can firewalk. RABBIT

Although the suits have different names Emotions (Cups), Inspiration (Wands), Voices (Swords), and Materials (Pentacles), that doesn’t mean that the cards have different meanings than your average tarot cards. The animals depicted in the Animal Totem Tarot are also connected to elemental energies. Fire represents ambition, creativity and passion; Water is associated with emotions, clarity, and purity; Air represents thought, Divine connections, and inspiration; Earth is practical, grounded, with strong connections to our physical reality. It comes with an accessible guidebook that helps you how to embrace the gifts of the tarot and integrate them into your life. But, in the Tarot, dog symbolism is completely different. The dogs are used to reflect growth, animal instinct, and even financial status. The legend goes that King Minos asked for a sign of approval from the God Poseidon and was sent a white bull. Because the bull was so beautiful, he did not sacrifice it to the God, which angered Poseidon. As punishment, Poseidon made the king's wife, Pasiphaë, fall in love with the bull. She mated with the bull, got pregnant and eventually gave birth to the Minotaur, who was born half-man and half-bull.This is only for the real GOT and TAROT lovers out there. What a perfect intersection of our two favorites. This is one of the major meanings of the Tarot, but it isn’t something that you have to know by memory. By simply looking at the card, most readers would be able to give the person they are reading a solid understanding of what is happening. Animals can offer us great wisdom and insight into our inner world and help us get closer to our true nature.
