I love everything fae and almost every book that has to do with fae, but add in some shifters and we have a recipe to die for. I’m sorry to say but she was so incredibly naive and stubborn, and could not see so many “plot twists” that were legit right in front of her! I mean it has been ages scene I've seen a good well build war scene or fighting scene where everything is taken slowly and there is desperation in our hearts that if the mmf or fmc are going to survive or no. However, House of Beating Wings is a slow-burn romance similar to “A Court of Thorns and Roses” (a VERY similar story), so keep in mind that the exciting parts will unfold in the upcoming books. Fallon was a magicless halfling who was given a prophecy, free the crows and they will make you queen.

Honestly, I question his sanity because I don’t know how he can be even remotely interested in Fallon. She's a judgemental bitch and I got so sick of her holier than thou attitude just because she was a virgin. I’m wondering if the author is setting us up for character growth a la Plated Prisoner or Crystal Bloom series and is being intentionally ambiguous with things in the plot for a twist/reveal to come, or if this one just isn’t for me.I think the world is so incredibly fascinating and well described, and the plot is intricate and thought through. As a consequence of having more than one love interest, the story takes many twists regarding the romance, and there is tension and conflict everywhere. Olivia does a fantastic job of creating a fantastical world where the history of a species was erased. I’m glad Syb and Phoebs are going to continue to be a big part of the next books and I hope they get a lot more page-time. Lately, I've hit the jackpot with fantasy romance reads (just banger after banger) so when I picked up House of Beating Wings by Olivia Wildenstein, I was cautious that my luck would finally run out.

Hands down one of my fav books of the year, I don’t know why I’m surprised when I fell in love with her Angels of Elysium series(Feather has my heart). Review: A high stakes fantasy series with hidden quests and prophecies that will leave you salivating for the next book! I really liked it, but it felt a little less maybe it's with the fact that this was the first book in the series.
