About this deal

Animal Motifs: The Princepses of the Titans accompanying the Speranza appear to have all come from a hostile frozen environment similar to Fenris, and they associate with each other as if they were wolves or feral dogs, considering their group to be a "pack", battling for leadership of the group or "alpha", and giving their Titans animal-like features. All others, flock this way, and read until you are full, for there will be more left over afterwards.

Lords of Mars: Forge of Mars: Warhammer 40,000, Book 2

Anyway it's a good book, fun to read and with that compelling power that makes you finish a 1000 + page book in a week. Besides having a force of Space Marines, the fleet included an over-powered force that included a battlecruiser, a Titan company and an elite force of Cadian troops and Skitarii. I'm glad they came as this omnibus, if I'd picked up the first one and read it alone with a gap of time I suspect I might not have bothered with the second or third. After reading Titanicus I looked forward to a Titan subplot but it's ultimately just childish bickering and posturing, and has no bearing on the rest of the plot. The bondsmen are treated so poorly that they're at the brink of uprising, and the Titans almost crippled the Speranza when their packleader had a PTSD nightmare.Gods of Mars is the third and final novel in the series featuring an Adeptus Mechanicus Explorator fleet, by Graham McNeill. Most of the action in a planetary romance is on the surface of an alien world, usually includes sword fighting, monsters, supernatural elements as telepathy rather than magic, and involves civilizations echoing those on Earth in pre-technological eras, particularly composed of kingdoms or theocratic nations. Filler: The subplot involving the Legio Sirius and their princeps has little to no bearing on the main plot and can easily be excised from the story.

Lords of Mars (Warhammer 40,000): McNeill, Graham

It's known for aging nearby stars by eons virtually overnight, and being untraversable as ships break apart in the gravity anomalies shortly after entering. Mars and Earth might be separated by millions of miles, but a sinister force is at work on both planets, setting the two champions on a deadly collision course. As the Adeptus Mechanicus forces and Black Templars Space Marines tackle the twin threats of the wrathful aliens and insurrection aboard the fleet, a greater danger reveals itself. Trauma Button: Princeps Arlo Luth experiences a vivid flashback to a difficult battle against the tyranids when the Titan Canis Ulfrica salutes his machine during a training exercise. The Power of Love: In Gods, Bielanna harnesses Roboute’s love for his ship and crew to open a portal connecting the surface of Exnihlio to his stateroom aboard the Renard.Ave Machina: The novels brings some nice insight about the views and works of the Adeptus Mechanicus. When Blaylock protests that he can’t do this, Kotov retorts, "I am an archmagos of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
